2nd test of my3dscanner. Front door of St Laurent church in Paris X.
I was enjoying maths but here i love them :)
This is a picture of the point cloud result, a screen capture from the browser.
A horseshoe crab shell. Rendered in Bryce.
Another small sculpture, set in a bellybutton I made in Meshmixer.
'The object of desire'is a project I have been working on for a number of years, it started with an idea to make a piece of furniture inspired by the hourglass shape formed by a fitted corset. I have always wanted to scan a woman wearing a corset as a part of the development of the project. I uploaded 15 images of a model wearing a black Vollers corset to M3DS and was amazed at what came back! You can read more about this project at www.charlie-davidson.com.
My first scan, of a small sculpture in clay. I've made scores of these small works, and will try more as scans.

Partial elevation of a local war memorial, the Airlie monument. I think the technique for taking the photography is improving as is my3dscanners capability for generating the pointcloud with little noise making it easy to mesh. I think I could do with a better camera though, I have noticed a regular blurred patch on the images which cannot help the process!
Anaglyph image of an excavation from 2011, more details to follow hopefully.

This is obj mesh with vertex color transferred to it. This is small Chinese house.
Lion in front of Grand Hall of Forbidden City, Beijing. It was too high to get a better scan.

Photos from all sides BEFORE washing car to maximise performance of scan. Chrome grill and panel middles didn't work but otherwise pretty good!

"The beer-drinking model has a special meaning: I was behind the camera and the 2 other guys are my company parters! On that picture we have just founded our 3D printing company www.objektdruckerei.de"
A snapshot of an elevation in meshlab. The mortuary chapel in Arbroath, Scotland. My3Dscanner does a fantastic job generating a dense point cloud model, enough to see detailed carvings of the celtic funeral procession above the statue.

This is really dense 360 degrees view vase. I will explain how I did it in the Blog. Paul

My first attempt at 3d scanning with this site, the model was a Human Anatomic Reference Model at my work. Shot about 30 images with a 5D mkII with a 16-35mm f2.8 lens at 35mm. Light was uncontrolled - fluorescent and overcast daylight. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I write weekly blogs for Ponoko, follow me on twitter @dizymac
A go kart we are using for a power tool drag racer chassis.
Photos taken over 120° around front on three heights (approx. 1m, 1.5m 2m). results great for putting in CAD (if only I could get solidworks to take a point cloud rather than needing a mesh). Can't seem to mesh as the open frame confuses it :(
This is my first try and I think this is a great software.
I did only 16 images, so next time it will be at least 30.
Monkey on a table.. Got overly excited on hearing about this site.. Grabbed the first object I could find. shot it in my garden on an overcast morning.. 180 arc looking toward and 180 arc aerial.. really amazed at the results.. amazing
I am a product and set designer and find inspiration in a whole manner
of life's intricacies. I never normally go near a computer to start off this
creative process rather sketch and make quick models, so when a friend told me about My3Dscanner I thought I would work in reverse for once. Start with a wholly digital concept end with the hand made piece
So while wondering what I could scan I came across a small dried curled up leaf which had a wonderful colour and texture to it which fitted the criteria for scanning with M3DS. The point cloud I got back was just beautiful and opened up many possibilites for architecture, furniture, lighting and set design.
I don't know what I am going to do with the point cloud model now except maybe export it into Rhino 3D and start to fiddle around.
